This colonial-era themed event features the Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps, African Music and Dance, a Blackbeard puppet show, a naval stores demonstration, and much much more. The event partners with the Lafayette Birthday Celebration, and this year the birthday cake cutting, served with ice cream, will be held in the park during the festival. The day also includes military small arms and artillery firing demonstrations. Join us in Arsenal Park. The event is free thanks to the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, who supported this project in part by contributions from businesses, individuals and through grants from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, and the NC Arts Council, a sister agency of the museum in the Dept. of Natural and Cultural Resources. Matching funds are being provided by the museum's support group, the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex Foundation, Inc.
