Join us on December 3 from 1-5 as we celebrate the season with "Holiday Jubilee at the 1897 Poe House." This year's event features a free concert by the Coventry Carolers and the Fayetteville Sound Barbershop Chorus performing seasonal favorites for visitors on the Poe House front porch. Other highlights of this event include a cooking demonstration on the 1902 Glenwood stove, and of course the beautifully decorated Poe House. Admission is FREE. Donations are gladly accepted!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be back to pose for photos and tell Christmas stories. Parents may take their own photos for FREE. Santa will be set up inside the Museum of the Cape Fear. Visitors can also make their own scrap ornament to take home.
The 1897 Poe House will be decorated for Christmas from November 24 through January 8. It is open for tours Tuesday-Friday during the week at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00; Saturdays on the hour from 10:00-4:00 and Sundays on the hour from 1:00-4:00. Tours of the house are free.
This project is supported by the Arts Council in part by contributions from businesses and individuals, and through grants from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Cultural Resources. Matching funds are being provided by the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex Foundation, Inc.
