Given the continued threat of COVID-19 and variants of the virus, face masks are required for indoor areas of the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex. This includes the Museum of the Cape Fear and the 1897 Poe House.

Hours: Museum of the Cape Fear OPEN 10:00-5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00-5:00 Sunday. Closed on New Year's Day, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
The 1897 Poe House is open for guided tours only, Tues-Fri at 11:00,1:00, and 3:00. On Saturday tours are on the hour from 10:00-4:00, and Sunday on the hour from 1:00-4:00.

Group Tours: Groups and organizations with at least 10 people may schedule a guided tour of the 1897 Poe House. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. We require a minimum of 10 people in a group to make a resevation. The maximum group size is 75, with 25 at a time for Poe House tours. The museum will work with groups if tour times need to start earlier than our regular 10:00 am opening time. Out of respect for the volunteer tour guides, groups arriving 30 minutes late will forfeit their guided tour. However, the group is still welcome to tour the museum and the grounds on their own. Remember that groups must book at least two weeks in advance of their visit. To schedule a tour call (910) 500-4243. Group leaders, please make your bus driver aware that a space beside the museum along Bradford Ave. has been reserved for bus parking.
